Welcome to Oxford Modern

Oxford Modern International School, situated at Kadugannawa, stands as one of the finest international educational institutions in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Over the years, rapid development in every sphere of school activity has earned us a reputation as the most progressive and innovative school in the district of Kandy.

While the high standard we achieve in English is one of our main strengths, we believe in imbuing our students with the values of our most cherished cultures and traditions. Our children live in a diverse community — multicultural, multinational and multilingual — where great emphasis is laid on mutual respect and tolerance. Our aim is to promote unity in diversity through harmonious co-existence.

Values that shape our children

We live in a diverse community — multicultural, multinational and multilingual — where mutual respect and tolerance come first.

Sound English-medium education

A strong English-medium foundation from the earliest years, with Sinhala and Tamil taught as first and second languages.

Cambridge & National pathways

Cambridge and local curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 5, and the National curriculum from Grade 6 onwards.

Computer & Western music

Computer literacy and Western music both begin from Grade 1, building 21st-century and creative skills early.

Sports & games

Athletics, cricket, chess, karate and dancing — a full programme of sport and physical activity.

Religious & moral education

Active programmes that help children understand and appreciate religions and cultures beyond their own.

Family & counselling programmes

Family group and counselling programmes bring parents and pupils into close understanding and support.

Unity in diversity, through harmonious co-existence

We promote respect for every culture, language and faith — the foundation of a happy, confident learner.
